Lake Tovel, also known as Lago di Tovel in Italian, is a stunning alpine lake located in the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park in the Trentino region of northern Italy. Surrounded by the majestic Brenta Dolomites and lush forests, Lake Tovel is known for its striking emerald-green waters, making it a popular destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
History
Lake Tovel has a history that dates back thousands of years. In the past, the lake was much larger, covering a wider area, and it was known for its deep red color during certain periods of the year due to a particular type of algae.

This natural phenomenon, known as "The Red Lake," was a unique attraction, drawing visitors from far and wide. However, the natural balance of the lake changed over time, and the red color phenomenon gradually disappeared in the late 1960s.
