The beautiful lakes of Lombardy are perhaps the most attractive feature of the region and provide the most compelling reasons to visit or spend a holiday here.

The Lombardy region has the three greatest lakes of Italy within its confines: Lake Como, Lake Maggiore which it shares with the neighbouring region of Piedmont, and Lake Garda which is split between Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige/South Tyrol.

Those three however are just the tip of the iceberg with the likes of Lake Lugano, Lake Iseo, Lake Idro and Lake Varese all in Lombardy.
