The town of Lari is situated within the Province of Pisa and stands at an elevation of 130 metres above sea level. Lari is the main town of the Casciana Terme Lari comune. 

Places of interest nearby include Peccioli, Lajatico, Castiglioncello, Pisa, Livorno and Volterra while the recommended hotel is the Albergo Stella​, eight kilometres away.
Lari is a walled medieval town with the Castello dei Vicari fortress as its centrepiece.

History
Lari has ancient origins, dating back to Etruscan and Roman times when the area was settled due to its strategic location. During the medieval period, the village developed as a fortified center under the rule of various noble families, including the Pisan and Florentine families.
