The major cities and towns of Trentino Alto Adige South Tyrol are headed by the two autonomous provincial capitals. The capital of the region is the city of Trento which is also the capital of the Trento Province. The second city of Trentino Alto Adige South Tyrol is Bolzano which is capital of the Bolzano Province.
Aside from the two cities above, the region can boast a number of attractive larger towns including the likes of Rovereto and Merano which are full of history. The same can be said of German-speaking Bressanone (Brixen in German) and Brunico (Bruneck), while one of the prettiest towns in Trentino is Arco, just behind Lake Garda. |
