Situated a distance of 42 kilometres north-east of Aosta, the regional capital of Valle d'Aosta, Lake Maen covers an area of 8 hectares, standing at an elevation of 1,311 metres above sea level.

Nearby places of interest include the towns of Valtournenche, Breuil-Cervinia, the Matterhorn, and Chatillon, while the recommended accommodation is the ​Hotel Grandes Murailles.
