The category of mining towns of Sardinia points to an important part of the island region's industrial heritage.

One such town is Argentiera which is now all but abandoned, and as such, considered by many as one of Italy's ghost towns.

A variety of emotions come to the surface when visiting the town which was once a thriving part of the local community.
