The town of Monselice is located within the Province of Padua and has a population of 17,501 inhabitants. It's situated around 60 kilometres north east of the city of Venice, the regional capital of Veneto.​ 

Standing at an elevation of 13 metres above sea level, it covers an area of 50 km².

Monselice is a charming town located in the Veneto region of northern Italy. Situated at the foot of the Euganean Hills, Monselice is known for its historical landmarks, picturesque landscapes, and cultural heritage. ​
History
Monselice has ancient origins, dating back to pre-Roman times when it was a settlement of the Veneti, a pre-Roman tribe. Throughout history, the town was influenced by various civilizations, including the Romans and the Lombards. During the Middle Ages, Monselice became an important fortified town due to its strategic location along the ancient trade routes between Venice and northern Italy.

The town's castle and defensive walls served as a stronghold for several noble families, including the Da Carrara family. Today, Monselice retains much of its historical character, making it a captivating destination for history enthusiasts.
