The lakeside town of Nago is situated within the Province of Trentino, on the shores of Lake Garda. It belongs to the Comune of Nago - Torbole and is located a distance of 46 kilometres south west by road from Trento, the provincial capital of Trentino.

Nearby places of interest include the towns of Riva del Garda and Arco as well as Lake Tenno and Lake Ledro.

Nago, a small village in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, stands on a hillside above the northern shores of Lake Garda, offering sweeping views over the water and the surrounding mountains. Together with nearby Torbole, it forms part of a region known for its blend of Mediterranean and alpine influences, where olive groves and cypress trees meet rugged limestone cliffs. The village’s narrow streets are lined with traditional stone houses, while the ruins of Castel Penede, perched on a rocky outcrop, provide a striking reminder of its medieval past and a panoramic spot to admire the lake and valley below.  

Outdoor activities define the area, with hiking and cycling trails leading from Nago into the Monte Baldo range and along ancient trade routes that once connected the Alps to the Po Valley. The Sentiero della Pace, a historic path tracing the events of the First World War, passes through nearby fortifications and scenic viewpoints. For rock climbers, the cliffs around Nago are well known for their challenging routes, drawing enthusiasts from across Europe. The proximity to Lake Garda also means easy access to windsurfing, sailing, and lakeside walks in Torbole, a short distance downhill.  

To the north, the Loppio Valley provides a quieter, lesser-known landscape for walking and nature exploration. A short drive west leads to Arco, a hub for rock climbing and outdoor sports, with its historic centre and castle perched high on a cliff. Further south, Riva del Garda offers a lively lakeside setting with historic buildings, museums, and cultural events. With its strategic location between the lake and the mountains, Nago offers both tranquillity and adventure, making it an ideal place to explore the diverse landscapes of Garda Trentino.​
