The lakeside location of Ossuccio is situated in the Province of Como, on the shores of Lake Como. It's a part of the Comune of Tremezzina and is located a distance of 74 kilometres north of Milan, the regional capital of Lombardy.

Ossuccio has a Lake Como ferry port, while nearby places of interest include Isola Comacina and Villa del Balbianello.

During the Middle Ages, Ossuccio was an important religious center, and its parish church, Church of Santa Maria Maddalena, is one of the most prominent landmarks in the area.
