How to Get to Poggio
By Rail: Poggio does not have a train station and is reached via ferry to Elba followed by road. The nearest mainland railway station is Piombino Marittima, located next to the ferry terminal. Trenitalia regional trains serve this station, with journey times from Pisa and Florence taking around 2 hours 30 minutes, usually involving a change at Campiglia Marittima.
By Road: Poggio is a hillside village on the western side of Elba, roughly 6 kilometres from Marciana Marina and 20 kilometres from Portoferraio. The drive from Portoferraio takes around 30 minutes. From the mainland, Piombino is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes from Pisa and 2 hours from Florence. Cars are permitted on Elba, and parking is available at the edge of the village.
