The seaside town of Scalea is situated on the Tyrrhenian Coast, in the Province of Cosenza. 

It has a population of 11,091 inhabitants and is located 92 kilometres north west of Cosenza, the provincial capital. The town has eight hotels while places of interest nearby include San Nicola Arcella, Praia a Mare, Diamante and Buonvicino.
