Comprising a series of hamlets set high above the lake, it is characterised by steep cliffs and deep valleys that form part of the Alto Garda Bresciano Park. The settlement’s position gives it some of the most dramatic views over the lake, reached by winding mountain roads including the famous Strada della Forra.

The main centre is Pieve di Tremosine, with its narrow streets, stone houses, and panoramic terraces overlooking the water. Landmarks include the Parish Church of San Giovanni Battista and the balcony known as the “Terrazza del Brivido.” The surrounding territory offers hiking and cycling trails through forests and gorges, while road links connect Tremosine with Limone sul Garda to the north and Gargnano to the south, as well as inland routes towards the Giudicarie valleys.

How to Get to Tremosine sul Garda
By Rail: Tremosine sul Garda does not have its own train station. The nearest stations are in Desenzano del Garda and Rovereto, both on main Trenitalia routes. From Desenzano, trains connect to Milan in about 1 hour and to Verona in around 25 minutes. From either Desenzano or Rovereto, Tremosine can be reached in about 1 hour by car or local bus.

By Road: Tremosine sul Garda is set on the western side of Lake Garda, above Limone sul Garda. From Brescia, the distance is about 65 kilometres, taking around 1 hour and 20 minutes via the SS45bis road. From Verona, the journey is approximately 90 kilometres and takes about 1 hour and 50 minutes. Parking is available in several areas of the scattered hamlets that make up the municipality.

  • Verona Villafranca Airport: Located about 95 kilometres from Tremosine sul Garda, with a drive of around 1 hour and 40 minutes. This is the most convenient airport, offering domestic and international flights.
