The town of Ugento is situated with the Salento region of Puglia in the Province of Lecce. It has a population of around 12,000 residents and lies 59 kilometres south of Lecce itself.

Ugento is a town located in the southern part of Puglia, within the Province of Lecce. Situated inland from the Ionian coast, it lies in the heart of the Salento region, surrounded by fields and olive groves. Ugento is known for its historical significance, with roots dating back to ancient times, and its blend of archaeological sites and traditional Mediterranean charm. The town's historical centre, with its narrow streets and stone buildings, reflects its rich cultural heritage, while its proximity to the coast makes it a great base for exploring both the town's history and the beautiful nearby beaches.
