The UTI del Friuli Centrale territory occupies a total geographical area of 274 square kilometres, including its administrative centre, the historic city of Udine and the pretty borgo of Tricesimo.

One of the Intercomunal Territorial Unions of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, it has a total population of around 170,000 inhabitants living within its 11 official comunes (municipalities). ​​​​​​
