​The town of Vitorchiano belongs to the historical area known as Tuscia, the Roman name given to Etruria, the land of the Etruscans.

​Vitorchiano is situated within the Province of Viterbo and stands at an elevation of 285 metres above sea level. The town has a population of around 5,000 inhabitants while places of interest nearby include Bagnaia, Villa Lante, Viterbo, and Bomarzo.
