The Abbadia Fiastra Nature Reserve is situated within the Province of Macerata and covers a total geographical area of around 18 square kilometres.

Abbadia Fiastra Nature Reserve is a beautiful protected area located in the region of Marche, Italy. It is nestled in the province of Macerata and covers approximately 2,000 hectares of diverse landscapes, including forests, meadows, and water bodies. ​
History
The nature reserve is named after the nearby Cistercian Abbey of Fiastra, a medieval abbey founded in the 12th century by Cistercian monks. The abbey played a significant role in the religious and cultural life of the region.

Over the centuries, the surrounding lands were cultivated and managed by the monks, creating a harmonious relationship between human activities and nature. Today, the area surrounding the abbey has been preserved as a protected nature reserve to safeguard its ecological importance and natural beauty.
