​The lakeside location of Argegno is situated within the Province of Como and lies on the shores of Lake Como. It has a population of around 650 residents.

It has a Lake Como ferry port, also called Argegno, as well as a cable-car up to the hilltop village of Pigra. Nearby places of interest include Colonno, Sala Comacina, Villa del Balbianello and Brienno.

Argegno is a picturesque village located on the western shore of Lake Como in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. Nestled between the lake and the surrounding hills, Argegno offers stunning views, historical charm, and a peaceful ambiance, making it an attractive destination for both tourists and locals. ​
History
The history of Argegno can be traced back to ancient times, with evidence of human settlements in the area since prehistoric and Roman eras. During the medieval period, the village grew around its strategic location as a crossroads for trade and transportation between Como and the northern regions. Argegno's proximity to the lake also made it a vital fishing and trading centre.

Throughout the centuries, the village has seen various influences and ruling powers, including the Visconti and Sforza families. Today, Argegno retains its historical character with charming cobblestone streets, ancient buildings, and historical landmarks.
