Avigliana is a lakeside town situated around 30 minutes from the centre of Turin (by car or train).

The main attractions of the town are its two lakes, Lago Grande and Lago Piccolo (big lake and small lake), while also of note close by is the famous religious complex of the Sacra di San Michele. which is just 10 kilometres away.

Avigliana is a charming town located in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. Situated at the foot of the Alps, Avigliana is known for its historical heritage, natural beauty, and picturesque landscapes. ​
History
Avigliana has ancient origins, dating back to Roman times when it was known as Abiliana. Throughout history, the town played a strategic role due to its location along important trade routes.

During the Middle Ages, Avigliana was a fiefdom of various noble families, including the Savoy family. The town's historical significance is reflected in its well-preserved medieval buildings, ancient walls, and charming historic center.
