Lakeside  Towns  of  Piedmont

The most beautiful lakeside towns of Piedmont can be found around some of the biggest lakes of Italy. The Piedmont region can boast a number of great lakes including Lake Maggiore; the second largest lake in Italy and the smaller but very attractive Lake Orta. 

Lake Maggiore is divided between Piedmont and Lombardy with the western shore and the Borromean Islands in the middle of the lake belonging to Piedmont and the eastern shore to Lombardy. 

The most famous towns around Lake Maggiore include Verbania and Stresa while Lake Orta can boast Omegna and Orta San Giulio.
