The town of Aymavilles has a population of 2,066 inhabitants. It stands at an elevation of 640 metres and lies 7 kilometres to the south west of Aosta, the regional capital of Valle d'Aosta.

Among the main sights in Aymavilles are its castle, churches and war memorial while nearby places of interest include Sarre Royal Castle, Parc Animalier d'Introd, Pila and Avise.
