The town of Casole d'Elsa is situated within the Province of Siena and stands at an elevation of 417 metres above sea level. It has a population of around 4,000 inhabitants.

Casole d'Elsa has been included in the list of Bandiera Arancione (Orange Flag) towns since 2003 and among its main sights is the Chiesa di San Niccolò: a Romanesque church that dates back to the 14th century.
