The Castello Aragonese in Ortona stands in a commanding position overlooking the Adriatic Sea in the region of Abruzzo.
Named after the Aragonese dynasty that once ruled the area, the fortress was originally built with defence in mind but later became a home for the noble Baglioni family in the 17th century. The exterior of the castle and ramparts are free to enter and to wander. |
