​The town of Cetona is situated within the Province of Siena and stands at an elevation of 385 metres above sea level. It has a population of around 2,500 inhabitants.

Places of interest nearby include Sarteano, Chiusi, Chianciano Terme and Radicofani while the recommended accommodation is the La Gustea Hotel & Cucina​ in Sarteano.
Among the main sights in the town are the attractive medieval square Piazza Garibaldi and the Museo Civico per la Preistoria del Monte Cetona which exhibits archaeological artefacts from prehistory.
