Overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, it combines a modern seaside area with the remains of an ancient settlement on the hillside above. How to Get to Cirella
By Rail: Cirella is served by the Diamante–Buonvicino train station, located approximately 2 kilometres south of the village. It lies on the Paola–Reggio Calabria railway and is operated by Trenitalia, offering regular regional services. Connections to Paola take about 35 minutes, and the station is reachable from Cirella by local road or taxi.

By Road: Situated on the Tyrrhenian coast of northern Calabria, Cirella is a small seaside locality around 5 kilometres north of Diamante and about 30 kilometres south of Praia a Mare. It is accessible via the SS18 coastal road, with a drive of roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes (approximately 85 kilometres) from Cosenza. Free parking can be found near the beach and within the town.

  • Lamezia Terme Airport: The nearest airport is about 110 kilometres to the south, with a driving time of around 1 hour and 30 minutes. It offers regular domestic routes and seasonal international flights, making it the most convenient choice for reaching Cirella.
  • Naples International Airport: Located approximately 230 kilometres to the north, the journey takes around 3 hours via the A2 motorway. This is a major airport with year-round services to numerous European destinations.
  • Crotone Sant’Anna Airport: Positioned about 200 kilometres southeast of Cirella, with a drive time of nearly 3 hours. It handles mostly domestic flights and is used less frequently by international travellers.
