Città di Castello is a charming town located in the province of Perugia, in the Umbria region of Italy. With its rich history, medieval architecture, and cultural heritage, Città di Castello offers visitors a unique and authentic Italian experience.
History
​The town's history dates back to ancient times, with evidence of Etruscan settlements in the area. During the Roman era, it was an important center along the Via Flaminia, an ancient Roman road connecting Rome to Rimini. In the Middle Ages, Città di Castello became a free commune and flourished under the rule of various noble families.

It later became part of the Papal States until the unification of Italy in the 19th century. The town's historical significance is reflected in its well-preserved medieval architecture and cultural landmarks.
