Located in the Province of Belluno, Lake Alleghe has a surface area of 50 hectares and a maximum depth of 55 metres. The lake is situated 46 kilometres from the city of Belluno and around 150 kilometres north west of Venice, Veneto's capital.

Nearby places of interest include the town of Alleghe and the ski resorts of Cortina d'Ampezzo and Arabba.

Lake Alleghe (Lago di Alleghe) is a picturesque glacial lake located in the Veneto region of northern Italy, in the heart of the Dolomite Mountains. It is nestled in the municipality of Alleghe, surrounded by majestic peaks, making it a popular tourist destination and an excellent base for outdoor activities.
History
Lake Alleghe was formed during the last Ice Age, as glaciers carved the landscape, leaving behind a deep basin that later filled with water. The village of Alleghe was established around the lake, and it was historically known for its mining activities and the extraction of iron ore.
