Veneto is a region of sea mountains and also lakes. It's home to the south eastern part of Lake Garda but there are also some lesser-known lakes of Veneto that are worthy of a visit.
The northern Belluno Province is well represented in this list with the stunning Lake Santa Croce just outside Belluno itself being the largest of those. Smaller but more famous is the beguiling Lake Misurina which lies in the heart of the Dolomites. It provides one of the most iconic images of the mountain region with its backdrop of snow-capped mountains perfectly complementing the rippling water of the lake in the foreground. |
