​​The beach resort of Lavinio is situated within the Metropolitan City of Rome province. It's officially part of the Comune of Anzio, which is 6 kilometres away.

Places of interest nearby include Nettuno, Marina di Ardea, Torvaianica, Latina and Cori while Rome Fiumicino Airport is 74 kilometres away and reachable by car in an hour and 9 minutes.

Lavinio, also known as Lavinium, is a coastal town located in the Lazio region of Italy, about 50 kilometers south of Rome. Situated on the Tyrrhenian Sea, Lavinio offers visitors a beautiful beach, historical sites, and a relaxing atmosphere, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists.
History
Lavinio has ancient origins and is steeped in history. According to legend, it was founded by Aeneas, the legendary hero of Troy, after he arrived in Italy.

​Lavinium was an important city in ancient times and was the capital of the Latin League, a confederation of Latin cities in the 7th and 6th centuries BC. It played a significant role in the early history of Rome and was considered the mythical birthplace of Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome.
