The beach resort of Marina di Campo is situated on the south coast of Elba, the largest of the islands that make up the Tuscan Archipelago. Officially part of the Campo nell'Elba Comune, it has a population of around two thousand.
It's a lively resort with a good number of accommodation options, shops, bars, restaurants and an expansive stretch of sandy beach. |
During the summer it's possible to take a boat from Marina di Campo's port to the pretty Pianosa, one of the smaller islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. If you're already in Elba and planning a day-trip to Pianosa, this is the best place to leave from as the crossing is just 45 minutes each way, as opposed to the hour and a half each way it takes from Portoferraio.
