Regional trains connect the town to Reggio Calabria in approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes and to Catanzaro Lido in around 1 hour and 20 minutes. The station is located near the town centre and within walking distance of the beach.

By Road: Marina di Gioiosa Ionica is situated on the Ionian coast of Calabria, about 105 kilometres northeast of Reggio Calabria. The drive from Reggio Calabria takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes via the SS106 coastal road. From Catanzaro, the journey is approximately 110 kilometres and takes about 2 hours. Public parking is available near the beach, train station, and central streets.
