The region of Molise's Borghi Più Belli d'Italia is a collection of four villages which have been marked out for their charm, and form part of a larger group which numbers in excess of 300 across Italy.
The term borgo refers to an historic village, small hill town or sometimes just a district of a larger town. Typically, the communities that live within the borghi (plural) are close-knit and are essential for maintaining the traditions of the regions. Molise's four borghi are the pretty Fornelli, Oratino, Frosolone and Sepino which lies next to the Saepinum archaeological site. |
