Mountain  Towns  of  Lombardy

This collection of mountain towns of Lombardy offers a contrast between large and small, famous and less well known. 

The largest of these towns is Chiavenna which is situated to the north of Lake Como at the point where the Lombardy landscape begins to be dominated by the Italian Alps.

​Smaller, but arguably more famous worldwide than Chiavenna is the town of San Pellegrino Terme which owes its global fame to its hugely successful brand of bottled water but is appreciated locally just as much for its excellent spa facilities.
