Patti is a coastal town in the Province of Messina, set on the northern shore of Sicily along the Tyrrhenian Sea. It rises in tiers above a wide bay backed by hills and terraced slopes, with the historic centre on higher ground and modern districts extending towards the waterfront. Views from the town and its surrounding heights open towards the Aeolian Islands, while the coastline forms part of the long route linking the northern settlements between Milazzo and Capo d’Orlando.

- Cattedrale di San Bartolomeo is the town’s main church, originally founded in the 11th century and later rebuilt in Baroque style. It houses the tomb of Adelasia, wife of Count Roger I of Sicily, making it an important historical site. The interior features marble altars, religious artwork and a vaulted ceiling. The cathedral stands in the old town, close to other medieval buildings.
- Villa Romana di Patti is a Roman archaeological site located just outside the town centre, discovered during motorway construction in the 1970s. It includes well-preserved mosaic floors depicting mythological scenes and daily life. The villa was part of a large agricultural estate from the late Imperial period. A visitor centre provides information and guided tours are available in summer.
- Centro Storico di Patti is a network of narrow streets, staircases and small piazzas filled with historic buildings and local shops. Key sights include medieval arches, palaces and traditional Sicilian balconies. The area is best explored on foot, particularly in the cooler hours of the day. Seasonal festivals and markets bring additional life to the historic centre.
- Santuario di Tindari is perched on a cliff near Patti and offers sweeping views over the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Marinello lagoons below. It houses the Black Madonna of Tindari, a statue venerated by pilgrims from across Sicily. The sanctuary complex includes a large church, square and souvenir stalls. It is a major religious and cultural site with a dramatic setting.
- Laguna di Marinello is a coastal nature reserve located below the Tindari promontory, made up of shallow lagoons, sandbars and walking trails. The area is popular for beach visits, birdwatching and scenic hikes along the coast. Access is from the beach near Oliveri, with paths leading through the dunes to quiet swimming spots. Local legends link the lagoon’s formation to miracles attributed to the Madonna of Tindari.
