The Piazza Ducale in Vigevano is one of the most celebrated squares in Italy and dominates the centre of this Lombardy town.
From its decorative cobbled floor to the historic frescoed buildings which line each side, it oozes medieval charm. Its eastern end is dominated by the Cathedral while to the south it's overlooked by the Torre del Bramante, part of the Castello Sforzesco complex. |

Piazza Ducale is a stunning Renaissance square located in the town of Vigevano, in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. The square was designed by the renowned architect Donato Bramante, who was also responsible for designing St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. Construction of Piazza Ducale began in 1492 under the patronage of Ludovico Sforza, the Duke of Milan.
