The sea port of Portovesme is situated within the Province of South Sardinia and belongs to the Comune of Portoscuso.

From its ferry port it's possible to sail across to the pretty town of Carloforte on San Pietro Island. 

​Places of interest nearby include Monte Sirai, Carbonia, the island of Sant'Antioco and Iglesias.
