The most important ferry ports of Sardinia include Cagliari, the island's capital on the southern coast, and Olbia on the Tyrrhenian Coast in the north east. From both of these ports it's possible to sail to the Italian mainland. From Cagliari for example you can sail to Civitavecchia in the Lazio region, Salerno and Naples in the southern region of Campania, or Palermo, the capital of Sicily.
It's also possible to make crossings within Sardinia from Cagliari to the port of Arbatax which is on the Tyrrhenian Coast between Cagliari and Olbia. The main destinations from Olbia itself include Genoa, Civitavecchia and the Tuscan ports: Livorno and Piombino. |
