  • Saluzzo Alta (Upper Town) is the medieval heart of the city, with cobbled streets, noble residences, and panoramic terraces. The area includes Renaissance palaces and defensive towers, and retains much of its original layout. It is best explored on foot and offers views across the plains to the Alps.
  • Castiglia di Saluzzo is a fortified palace that served as the residence of the marquises of Saluzzo and later as a prison. Today it houses museums dedicated to archaeology, civic history, and contemporary art. The castle sits above the old town and includes access to panoramic terraces and underground tunnels.
  • Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta is located at the edge of the historic centre and was built in the late 15th century in Gothic style. It features a tall bell tower, rose window, and an interior with ribbed vaults, frescoes, and a marble altar. The cathedral remains the town’s main place of worship.

How to Get to Saluzzo
By Rail: Saluzzo has its own train station, connected by a regional line to Savigliano, where high-speed and intercity services operate. From Turin, trains take about 45 minutes to Savigliano, with a further 25 minutes to Saluzzo. The station is located near the town centre and within easy reach of local amenities.

By Road: Saluzzo is situated in the province of Cuneo, at the entrance to the Po Valley. From Turin, the distance is about 60 kilometres, with a driving time of around 1 hour via the A55 and A6 motorways. From Cuneo, the journey is approximately 30 kilometres and takes about 40 minutes. Parking is available around the town centre and near the historic district.

  • Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport: Roughly 200 kilometres from Saluzzo, taking about 2 hours and 40 minutes by car. Offers a wide range of European connections.
