San Daniele dei Friuli has ancient origins, dating back to Roman times. It was a strategic location along the historic Roman road Via Julia Augusta, connecting the Roman colonies of Aquileia and Cividale. During the Middle Ages, it flourished as a cultural and religious center, with the construction of important religious buildings like the Cathedral of San Michele Arcangelo.
