The town of San Lupo is situated within the Province of Benevento and has a population of 769 inhabitants.

Standing at an elevation of 500 metres above sea level, it covers a total area of 15 km².

San Lupo can be found along the main road that links a number of attractive towns nearby. Visitors to the Matese Regional park often like to visit neighbouring villages such as Guardia Sanframondi, Cerreto Sannita and Cusano Mutri before making their way to the region of Molise, just a short distance from San Lupo.
