​​The beach resort of Santa Severa is situated within the Metropolitan City of Rome province. It's officially part of the Comune of Santa Marinella, which is 10 kilometres away.

Places of interest nearby include the Etruscan Necropolis of Cerveteri and Civitavecchia while Rome Fiumicino Airport is 45 kilometres away and reachable by car in 43 minutes.

Santa Severa is a charming coastal town located in the province of Rome, in the Lazio region of Italy. It is situated along the Tyrrhenian Sea, approximately 50 kilometers northwest of Rome, making it an easily accessible destination for both locals and tourists. Santa Severa is known for its beautiful sandy beaches, historical castle, and tranquil atmosphere.
History
The history of Santa Severa dates back to ancient times when it was known as Pyrgi, an Etruscan port town. In the 9th century AD, a fortress was built on the site by the Saracens, which later came under the control of the Papal States.

​The current Santa Severa Castle was constructed in the 15th century by the Orsini family. Over the centuries, the castle changed hands among noble families and underwent various renovations.
