Sassocorvaro is a picturesque hilltop town located in the region of Marche, Italy. Perched atop a rocky outcrop in the Montefeltro area, this medieval village offers visitors a journey back in time with its ancient architecture, historical landmarks, and breathtaking panoramic views. ​
History
Sassocorvaro has ancient origins, dating back to Roman times when it was known as Tifernum Metaurense, due to its proximity to the Metauro River. During the Middle Ages, the town became a strategic stronghold for the powerful Montefeltro family, who ruled over the region. The imposing fortress, known as the Rocca Ubaldinesca, was built during this period and played a significant role in the town's defense.

Over the centuries, Sassocorvaro experienced various rulers, including the Papal States and the Duchy of Urbino, contributing to its historical heritage and cultural richness.
