The most Scenic Towns of Emilia Romagna are the next size down from the region's major cities and serve to embellish the outstanding collection of places to visit within its environs. 

Salsomaggiore Terme is one of the most outstanding spa towns in Italy with some fascinating Liberty-style architecture. Further aesthetic charms can be found at the medieval town of Rocca San Casciano and Colorno with its palace and gardens. The provincial town of Sant'Arcangelo di Romagna is one of the prettiest in the region, while the much smaller Le Roncole is the birthplace of Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi, close to the town of Busseto.
