Stelvio National Park

The Stelvio National Park is an area of steep mountain passes that covers a geographical area of 1,300 square kilometres.
The park is shared between Lombardy to the south-west and the neighbouring region of Trentino Alto-Adige to the north east. Situated within the Province of Sondrio on the Lombardy side and in the South Tyrol Province on the other, the park was established in 1935 and rises to a maximum elevation of 3, 905 metres above sea level. |
The Stelvio Pass road that traverses the highest peaks of the park is one of the most legendary roads in Italy, characterised by seemingly endless hairpin turns which lead on to steep inclines.
