​The hill town of Stilo is situated within the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria province and has a population of around 2,500.

It stands at an elevation of 386 metres above sea level and is included in the list of Borghi Più Belli d'Italia (most beautiful villages in Italy). Places of interest nearby include the towns of Monasterace, Marina di Monasterace and Riace Marina.

Stilo is a historic town located in the province of Reggio Calabria, in the southern region of Calabria. Nestled in the foothills of the Aspromonte mountain range, Stilo is surrounded by lush forests and offers stunning views of the surrounding valleys and hills. The town is known for its medieval character, with narrow cobbled streets, traditional stone houses, and a wealth of historical landmarks that reflect its long and varied past.

One of the most significant attractions in Stilo is the ancient Cattolica di Stilo, a Byzantine church dating back to the 9th century, which is famous for its unique architecture and historical importance. History
Stilo's history is deeply rooted in the Byzantine era. The town was founded in the 7th century and became an important centre of Byzantine culture and art. During this period, Stilo flourished as a religious and intellectual hub, with the construction of notable religious buildings, such as the iconic Cattolica di Stilo.
