The Supramonte massif is situated within the Province of Nuoro, and covers a total geographical area of 350 square kilometres.

Places of interest nearby include the towns of Orgosolo, Montes Forest, Mamoiada, Dorgali and Nuoro ​while Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is reachable in an hour and 40 minutes by car, a distance of one hundred and ten kilometres.

Supramonte is a vast mountain range located in the central part of Sardinia, known for its rugged landscape and dramatic scenery. This area is part of the larger Barbagia region and is characterised by steep cliffs, deep gorges, and a network of caves and valleys. The Supramonte mountains are popular with hikers, trekkers, and nature enthusiasts due to their wild terrain and the opportunity to explore Sardinia's most remote and untouched landscapes.

The area offers several hiking trails that lead through the mountains, providing stunning views of the surrounding countryside, as well as access to some of Sardinia's most famous natural landmarks, such as the Gorropu Gorge, one of the deepest in Europe. Supramonte is also home to a variety of wildlife, including wild boar and birds of prey, making it a great spot for those interested in wildlife observation.
