Urbino Cathedral
Latest update: 19 February 2022
Located next to the Piazza Duca Federico, Urbino Cathedral is one of the sights that earned Urbino its UNESCO World Heritage listing; its beautiful facade and dome matched by the interior.
The building as we see it today was completed in 1801, the Neoclassical structure replacing the previous cathedral whose cupola was destroyed by an earthquake on 12 January 1789. |
In fact, this is the third cathedral to be built on the site with the original dating back to the eleventh century.
