The UTI Riviera - Bassa Friulana territory occupies a total geographical area of 438 square kilometres, including its administrative centre, the seaside town of Marano Lagunare.

One of the Intercomunal Territorial Unions of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, it has a total population of around 56,000 inhabitants living within its 12 official comunes (municipalities). ​​
