​The historic town of Borgo San Lorenzo is part of the Metropolitan City of Florence province with a population of 18,240. 

Standing at an elevation of 193 metres above sea level, it's located a distance of 33 kilometres north east of Florence, the regional capital of Tuscany.  Nearby places of interest include Vicchio, Mugello, Scarperia, Lake Bilancino and Fiesole.

Borgo San Lorenzo has ancient origins, dating back to Roman times when it was an important settlement along the ancient road that connected Florence to the Apennine Mountains. The town's name originates from the Church of San Lorenzo, which was built in the area during the Middle Ages.
