​The Lago di Bilancino or Lake Bilancino in English, is situated in the Metropolitan City of Florence province. It covers a total area of 5 square kilometres and is 31 metres deep at its deepest point.

The lake stands at an elevation of 252 metres above sea level while
​nearby places of interest include the towns of Barberino di Mugello, Borgo San Lorenzo and Scarperia.

Lake Bilancino, also known as Lago di Bilancino, is an artificial lake located in Tuscany, Italy. It is situated in the Mugello region, northeast of Florence, and was created in the 1980s as a reservoir for water supply, flood control, and irrigation purposes.

Today, the lake has become a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, offering a variety of recreational activities and a tranquil escape in the picturesque Tuscan countryside.
History
The construction of Lake Bilancino began in the late 1970s, and the dam was completed in 1998. The main purpose of the lake was to regulate the flow of the Sieve River and prevent flooding in the downstream areas, including Florence.

Additionally, the lake serves as a crucial water source for agriculture and industrial activities in the region. Over the years, Lake Bilancino has also become a popular spot for water sports and outdoor leisure.
