​The beach of Capo Taormina is situated on the Ionian coast of Sicily, within the Metropolitan City of Messina province.

Capo Taormina is part of the comune of Taormina, the main town that sits at the top of a hill which can be accessed via cable car from just behind the beach at Isola Bella.

Places of interest nearby include the beaches of Spisone, ​Mazzarò and Isola Bella, while the seaside town of Giardini Naxos lies just around the headland to the south of Capo Taormina. Catania Airport is 53 minutes away by car, a distance of 64 kilometres.

History

During the Middle Ages, a watchtower was constructed on Capo Taormina to protect the coastline from pirate raids. The tower is known as "Torre Sant'Andrea" and still stands today as a historical landmark.
